Roller Sports to be include in 2010 Asian Games!

Good news folks! Roller sports has been confirmed to be included in the 2010 Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou, China! Official recognition of the sport is essential in helping roller sports grow; this is great news to all roller sports fans the world around. Now we just need to keep on lobbying to get recognized for the Olympics!

The 24skate for Malaysia this year was held in Putrajaya. Rainy weather and wet road conditions meant a poor turnout. Cheers to the skaters who skated (collectively) 99 kilometers in the cold and wet conditions!

The time for the 24Skate has rolled around again. For those of you who aren't in the know, the 24Skate is an inline relay event, held around the world to help raise funds for UNICEF. This year the 24Skate will be held in Putrajaya on June 16 from 9pm - 11pm. For details on how you can participate, please contact Skateline Malaysia.

Subang Jaya Run 2007

The Subang Jaya Run 2007 is open to skaters!
The run will be held on the 1st of July 2007 at 7.30am. The distance covered will be 10km.
To participate, please register with Skateline before the 13th of June.

Edit: the run has been postponed to 26th August 2007.

Pacesettters Malaysia and the Kiwanis Club of Kuala Lumpur are jointly organizing the Pacesetters-Kiwanis Charity Fun Run 2007.

The event is a charity run to raise funds for the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation-National Centre, the Ti-Ratana Home in Klang, the Society of Interpreters for the Deaf in Ampang and the Supported Living Project by Dignity & Services.

The run will cover 5km and will be held on the 20th of May 2007 at 7.30 am. For more details or to register, please contact Skateline.

Sunway University College Comunity Run 2007

National Runway Cycling 2007

Ever wanted to skate down an airport runway? You'll get a chance at Singapore's National Runway Cycling 2007 event! For one day only the airport runway at Paya Lebar will be open to skaters and cyclists. Details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 3 June 2007
Time: 8am
Venue: Paya Lebar Air Base

Family Route: 6km
VitaHealth Leisure Route: 15km
Shimano Endurance Challenge: Cyclists - 45km
Endurance Challenge: Skaters - either 15km or 30km

Orange Run 2007

Several skaters took part in the Orange Run 2007, organized by BH Petrol at Mutiara Damansara. The route was through some hilly terrain making for some fun skating! Pictures from the event are below.

Naomi Grigg returns to Malaysia!

Slalom and freestyle champion Naomi Grigg returned to Malaysia (see her previous visit here) at the invitation of Skateline to give a demonstration on freestyle skating to Malaysian skaters.

On the 9th of April we were at Putrajaya and on the 10th of April at Roller Sports World at Sungei Wang.

World champion slalom and freestyle skater Naomi Grigg will be back in Malaysia at the invitation of Skateline! She'll be down on the 9th and 10th of April 2006, so keep your schedules free!

The tentative itinerary is below. Note: it's tentative, so please check back in case of changes!

Mon 9th April - 8.30pm: Putrajaya Night Skate. Come and skate with us, tell your friends!

Tue 10th April - 8.00pm @ Roller Sports World, Sungei Wang: . Freestyle demo and clinic. Bring your friends along; there's more to skating than just going backwards and forwards.

The Orange Run, organised by BHPetrol is open to skaters! It's scheduled for the 15th of April (Sunday) and will be at the Mutiara Damansara area. For more details click here.

PJ Half Marathon 2005
